Update Patches

before you can play bf2 online ya need to make sure ure upto date with the patches You can use EA Link to download it or just go direct to the EA website

setting a name prefix {mEr}

ok for some reason you cant use the correct brackets {} in the ingame prefix box

all you need to do is go to my documents/battlefield 2/prefix

open the file called Global.con with notepad

edit the bottom line to look like this - GlobalSettings.setNamePrefix "{mEr}"

save and exit and yer done :)

Remove the loading screens !!!!

You should only do this after you've played the game at least once otherwise it could cause problems with the autoplay the first time round

simply rename the relevant files in your \Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Movies\ directory to something else (e.g. rename the Intro.bik to Intro.backup). The files to rename are: Dice.bik, EA.bik, Intro.bik, Legal.bik and Welcome.bik. This will mean the intro movies are all skipped as BF2 starts to load. If you find the movies playing in the background of the Login screen and Settings screens annoying, you can also rename the menu.bik and menu_loggedin.bik to something else as well.

Removing all movies from the game can save over 250MB of data being loaded up during the start of the game and being placed into memory - this will help smooth your gameplay particularly for those with less RAM. If for any reason you experience any problems with the game after renaming the movies, simply rename them back to their original names.

remove the need to have yer disk in the drive!!!

for this you need to own the game as a fake serial will not work online

simple follow these instructions

first get a virtual drive installed (cd/dvd emulator) download Daemon tools

then get sd4hide (this hides the fact that its a virtual drive) click here

ya also need a mini image of it get that from Game copy world

just mount the bf2 mini image with yer virtual drive and run the sd4hide and yer good to go ;)
